Another good rule of thumb is pray during the meal time you are fasting. Fasting and praying for more than three meals or even three days is the sort of thing reserved for times of special need to difficulty. If you are facing an obstacle or problem it may be a good time to fast. Medical professionals say that fasting two meals one day per week is beneficial both physically and spiritually. Remember the reasons to fast are varied but you should always do it under the guidance of the Lord to be effective.
