Claims of Isaiah.

Isaiah 61:1-4 is such a great passage of scripture.  Jesus Himself used this scripture in Nazareth, let us look at it for a moment to see the truths contained in this passage.  The Spirit of the Lord was upon Jesus Christ and He was anointed and guided by the Holy Spirit during His earthly minitry.  He was sent to preach the goodnews to the poor, in spirit and heart.  He was sent to heal the broken hearted and proclaim freedom to those in captivity to satan.  To proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour and to bring about a day of vengence upon sin and the world.  To comfort those who mourn, grieve and to provide for them a crown of beauty.  Instead of ashes He would give the oil of joy.  Instead of mourning the Lord will give a garment of praise instead of despair.  The purpose of this is to make the child of God a tree that is planted by the rivers of living water that they may display his splendor.  Your promises are:  Psalm 30:2, 34:10, 55:18, 103:3, 119:93, Isaiah 53:4-5, John 8:36 Rom 8:2 and 1 John 3:8.  Your insightful sayings are:  Friendship is precious and should never be taken for granted or exploited.  True courage is standing up for your convictions when everyone else is abandoning theirs.
