In Matt 2:1-2 a group of maji or wisemen came to Jerusalem and asked King Herod where was the King of the Jews was so they could come and worship Him. They had seen a star in the East that led them to the King of the Jews. Now there is a lot of spectulation about how that came about. Matthew does not mention how they came about to this knowledge he just tells how they came to Jerusalem and eventually ended up in Bethlehem. There is a promise here and that is that the Lord will lead you if you make the effort. These men were unbelievers in every sense as far as the Jews were concerned but they wanted to find the truth. The truth they were seeking was Jesus Christ. He is still the truth that wise men must seek. When Pilate was talking to Jesus he made the statement, "What is truth?" The reality for Pilate was that He was staring in the face of truth. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father but through Him. The wise man sought Him and so must we. Jesus came to save mankind from their sins. He wants us to have a full and powerful relationship with God. The wise men put a lot of effort in their pursuit of Jesus. One man wrote, "It will take all your effort and God’s to have a dynamic relationship with God." Pursue God today and have the fullness of the abundant life He intended for you.
