In Isaiah 17, there is a prophecy against the enemies of Israel.  This particular prophecy is against the city of Damascus and the people of Syria.  The nation of Syria has always been an enemy of Israel.  Over the centuries these two countries have been neighbours but not friends.  Even today the nation of Syria threatens the security of Israel.  God has given this prophecy to Syria that if they do not repent He will destroy Damascus.  When God gives a promise and a warnig it is something to be heeded.  God is faithful in doing what He says He will.  If we as Christians receive a promise from the Lord we will find Him faithful and I am so glad.  God is so good.  God was faithful to Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Daniel and the list goes on and on.  He will be faithful to you.  Your promises are:  Phil 4:13, Matt 6:33, Eph 3:20, Heb 4:14, 10:23 and 12:25.  Your insightful sayings are.  Relying on the word of a liar is like giving a thief the keys to your home.  Solomon said that foolishness is found in the heart of a child, he just forget to mention that it lives in their parents hearts as well.
