Once Upon a Star, written and arranged by Joseph Salvalaggio
Performed by WindRose Trio with Charles Stolte, narrator.
Date: April 30, 2017
Time: 2 pm
Place: PCL Hall, Alberta College Campus
Recommended for children between 4 and 10 years old, Once Upon A Star tells the musical story of a young boy named Joey and his trip through the solar system with his new friend Vega the star. Joey and Vega visit each planet and together discover some of their properties and how different they are from each other. They also find out what it means to be a good friend.
Children will be given worksheets to fill out and colour during the concert or afterwards at home. The sheets include word games, matching games, definitions, and opportunities to draw and tell their own stories.
The concert will begin with a brief instrument demonstration to introduce the three woodwind instruments in the trio. Kids will have a chance to hear each instrument separately and learn about how the sound is made on them.
Narrator: Charles Stolte
WindRose Trio:
Beth Levia, oboe
Robert Spady, clarinet
Matthew Howatt, bassoon
