Oliver Community Festival
May 30, 2015 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
| FreeEvent Navigation
The festival is a co-operative venture by the Oliver Community League, 124th Street Business Association, Christ Church Anglican, and Robertson-Wesley United Church. The festival will take place on 102 Avenue between 121 Street and 123 Streets.
The opening ceremony is at 10 am, and you can enjoy a free pancake breakfast from 10-11. The entertainment, both inside the two churches and outdoors, includes choirs, bands, soloists, handbells, dance, drumming, Celtic harp, a fiddling group, a circus act, live painting to music and historic tours. There will be lots of fun activities for children and youth including bouncy castles, crafts, and games. A rummage sale and book sale will interest treasure hunters. New this year is a street hockey game! (No one will have to say “car” since the street will already be blocked off!) Later in the day, there will be lots of food, including home baking and a toonie BBQ (12-2). Be sure to check out the local vendors and local artists along with their creations, designed and produced for and in our community.
