In Ezra 3:10-11, the foundation of the temple had been laid and there was a great celebration. The singers and musicians played a song of praise to the Lord. The people gave a great shout and it was a great day for Zerubabbel, and the leaders of Judah. The work had begun. Paul brings out that the foundation for life is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the chief cornerstone. The foundation of this temple is the death of Jesus Christ on the cross and the belief in it. Paul tells us that the super structure that we build on the foundation of Christ is very important as well. The people of Judah put great pain and effort into building a temple that the Lord would be proud to dwell in. We also must put great effort into making our temple a place fit for the Lord to dwell. D.L. Moody one day was pondering his future as an evangelist. The crowds were great but something was missing in his life. The foundation laid in his life was not the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Moody discovered he had been going through the motions but he did not really know the Lord. He surrender his life totally to the Lord and his life radically changed. He discovered a peace, joy, love and power he had never known. He stated he would never be the same and he was. He was a totally consecrated man. You can do that as well today. Your promises for today are, Josh 24:15, Prov 3:5-6, 1 Cor 6:19-20, Matt 22:37-40 and Matt 6:33. Your insightful thoughts are: Agitation of a good friend is like holding a snake by its tongue. It will sting for a long time. Honor is given to those who earn it.
