God For Us.

In 2 Kings 19:1, the enemies of Hezekiah were at the door of Jerusalem.  The nation of Judah was outmannned, outgunned and was under siege.  Hezekiah had no place to turn but to the Lord.  What a great place to be.  In many churches today people sing, "If god is for us us, who can be against us."  No truer statement can be made.  The Assyrians were relying on their armies and empire to protect them. Hezekiah and the people of Judah were depending on the Lord.  As we know from this account it was the Lord who got the victory.  Yet what was it that made God move so quickly.  Hezekiah humbled himself in the sight of the Lord.  He put on sackcloth and went to the temple of the Lord.  When we humble ourselves God is able to move because self is out of the way.  Next time when you are faced with a difficult enemy just remember this.  Your promises for today are Matt 9:29, 21:21, Rom 10:17, 1 Cor 2:5, and Heb 10:23.  Your insightful thoughts are, The marriage partner who wants to prove their point will end up sleeping alone.  Funny thing about mud when it is on our children it is a nuisance, when it is on us it is a beauty treatment.
