Outside Sales – Advertising Consultant


Touch Canada Broadcasting is hiring Advertising Consultants for our fun, fast paced AM and FM stations in Edmonton, Alberta.


OUR FORMAT: Christian Contemporary Music/Spoken Word


OUR STATIONS: Shine FM and AM 9.30 The Light







To generate revenue by developing market potential through prospecting, client needs assessment, presentation, and closing sales.


Knowledge & Skills:


  • Minimum two years experience in business to business sales
  • Experience selling in a customer-focused environment
  • Previous experience in the broadcasting industry an asset
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines
  • Perseverance and persistence in prospecting and cold calling
  • Ability to ask for the order and close deals decisively
  • Ability to function both independently and in a team environment
  • Must demonstrate integrity and professionalism
  • Self-motivation, passion, and drive to succeed
  • Positive attitude, problem solver, and willingness to learn
  • An understanding of Christian contemporary music, spoken word programming, and their listener base an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products




  • Initiate sales process with new clients by prospecting, cold calling, scheduling appointments, assessing clients’ needs, understanding account needs, making initial presentation, closing, and servicing


  • Build, manage, and service your list of station


  • Develop and coordinate radio advertising campaign strategies for the


  • Present and communicate campaign strategies to Close the sale!


  • Work with clients to monitor results of campaigns to ensure ongoing


  • Act as liaison between clients, Creative, Production, and Traffic departments to ensure flawless communication and execution of


  • Generate new ideas and opportunities by anticipating trends and issues based on knowledge of clients’


  • Cross-sell/up-sell various services (ie. Web advertising) as


  • Maintain client information in customer relationship management


  • Analyze ongoing results to identify campaign trends and key insights to help meet and exceed client


  • Manage receivables in a timely


  • Attend regular training, sales meetings, and station events as


  • Complete weekly sales report and monthly GAP


  • Report activity to Sales Manager in


  • Other duties as assigned
