Short and Uneventful.

In 2 Kings 15:8-12, is the reign of Zechariah the king of Israel which was both short and uneventful.  That can happen to us if we do not follow the principles of love found in 1 Cor 13:1-2.  Paul was teaching that love must be the greatest motivating factor in our lives.  First, if we do not love the way God wants us to love we will produce nothing of real value.  Secondly, if we do not love the way God wants us to love we will receive nothing of real value.  Thirdly, if we do not love the way God wants us to love we are of no real value.  Zechariah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.  His reign only lasted six months.  The reason for such a short reign was because he was killed.  It is so important to live for God.  Your promises today are Ps 5:12, 17:4 34:7, 46:1, 97:10 and Prov 2:8.  Here are two proverbs to think about today.  The wise man knows that confrontation without a solution is folly.  The fool will argue long after the quarrel has ended.
