In Jeremiah 41:16-18, we have the account of Jeremiah talking about Egypt. The country of Egypt has been a picture of the world in the Bible. Many great men of God have fled to Egypt. Moses lived there and Abraham went to live there as well. Joseph was sold into slavery and lived there. One thing that we notice about the country of Egypt is that even in spite of its character, men of God have risen to prominence in it. Moses and Joseph were princes in Egypt. Both men influenced the country for God. The country has known the greatness of God. Today many in the country follow the teaching and religion of Islam. God has dealt with this nation many times in the past and will do so in the future. There is a rich history in Egypt but never let yourself be caught up in the things of the world which Egypt represents. The last thought that I wish to bring you this morning is that men of God that lived in Egypt did not allow themselves to be trapped by the lifestyle of the people of Egypt. They followed God. Do this as well and live in victory in this world. Your promises today are: Rom 12:10, 1 Cor 10:12, Eph 4:32 and Rom 8:37.
