The Goliath’s of Life

In 1 Sam 17:20-58, we learn that one cannot go through the Bible and not deal with the story of David and Goliath.  We could spend a great amount of time talking about the many truths found in this portion of scripture.  For example we could talk about the faith and trust that David had.  We could talk about how Goliath was not insulting man or Israel, but God.  Today however we will focus on the fact that no matter the size of the obstacle we face, with God we will overcome.  David when he came face to face with Goliath knew that the battle was not his but the Lord’s   David refused to wear Saul’s armour because it did not fit.  This is like so many solutions found in the world.  David went into battle with a sling and five stones, he used what was familiar and had gotten him the victory before.  He went in the strength and the anointing of the Lord.  The giant was defeated and the Lord got the glory.  In your life you will face many problems and some will look like giants and mountains.  Yet you have the promise of God that He will lead you to victory.  You have the Lord and His strength on your side.  So today walk in victory knowing that with God all things are possible.  Your promises are Josh 24:15, 1 John 4:4, James 4:7, Luke 1:37, Prov 3:5-6.  Isaiah 41:10
