You are my disciples.

In 8:21, Jesus said that you abide in my word you are my disciples.  What a powerful word for us today.  The key to stay and be His disciples is to stay in the word.  Jesus had many things to say and they are recorded in the gospels.  The focus of the New Testament is all about who Jesus is.  The Old Testament has more than 300 promises about Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ is the subject of the Bible.  That is why it is so important to read and study God’s word.  Paul states that we are study to show ourselves approved of God, a workman who is not ashamed but rightly divides the word of truth.  It is our duty and privilege to study the Bible.  The Bible is our final authority on faith and practice.  In its pages you will find the words of life.  Jesus says if we abide, live in and dwell in its pages we are truly His disciples.  A disciple is someone who closely follows the teachings and lifestyle of their master.  In our case we are followers of Jesus Christ.  It is obvious in His encounter with satan in the wilderness, Jesus knew the word.  He used the word every time when it came to three temptations.  When we use the word we shut down any satanic attack.  So today open your bible, read it for all its worth, defeat the devil and be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
